The journey

Sarasota - Charlotte - New Wark - Sweden - Malaysia (A grand total of 36 bad ass hours)

It started on a relaxing Labor Day. We hoped into a cab and had a pleasant ride to the airport. With two tots, a double stroller (we have the Hummer of strollers), more than 200 lbs of luggage (babies do not travel light!!), we checked in and awaited to begin our long, long journey. We were anxious to find out to how the ninja girls will do on such a tedious haul. I had even asked their pediatrician what I could give them to calm them down in case they flipped out during the flight (eg, Baby Benedryl) and she just glared at me and curtly said no. She made me feel like such a monster of a mother.

I was pleasantly surpised how well the girls did on the flight. They fussed a little, but nothing to warrant the other passeengers giving us the stare cock (Malayia colloquialism. Urban Dictionary translates this as - A fierce stare into some lamers or idiot bastards who accidentally/purposely made others angry).

We flew Malaysia Arlines and were most satisfied with their service. The flight crew was extremely courteous and helpful. Flying with the girls provided us with plenty of perks like checking in first, eating before everyone else and we received so much attention. The baby bassinets were lifesavers and the girls caught their ZZZ's very comfartably in there - in fact it was probably more comfortable than first class!

Dehydratred, exhausted and a sore butt later, we finally arrrived. Now where is that curry mee I've been longing for for the last two vyears??

Sakura earrings

In Japan the cherry blossoms are believed to exemplify the transient nature of life, because of their short blooming times.

This asymmetrical pair of earrings are delightful. One side is a vintage cherry blossom followed by a ring of faux pearl and ending with a fresh water pearl and Swarovski crystal. The other side is the same pearl ring and beads except for the vintage brass floral piece. Ear wire is sterling silver.

Rosa azul earrings

Blue roses traditionally signify mystery or attaining the impossible. They are believed to be able to grant the owner youth or grant wishes. This symbolism derives from the rose's meaning in the language of flowers common in Victorian times.

The blue rose is cut turquoise followed by a faceted white Czech bead. A vintage ring of crystals follow and the design is finished off with a vintage brass floral piece. Ear wire is gold plated.

Hum-dinger earrings

Vintage swan song brass necklace

INTERESTING FACTS
"Swan song" is a reference to an ancient belief that the Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) is completely mute during its lifespan, but may sing one heartbreakingly beautiful song just before it dies.

This is pair of gorgeous and intricate antique brass wings. The detailing on these are excellent. Above the wing is a vintage Swarovski crystal circle. The sparkle of the stones complement the ages wing beautifully.

The chain is gold-filled.

Clutch earrings

This pair of earrings make an adorable match. The nest side is a delicate vintage silver filigree bead cap filled with three fresh water pearls. Hanging from the nest is a smoky gray Czech crystal bead. The other side is a vintage silver swallow piece. Accompanying the bird is a pearl and a Czech bead. Ear wire is sterling silver.

Begonia earrings

So pink, so sweet, so pretty...

Another great match. The flower side is a pink vintage celluloid floral piece adhered to a vintage copper sepal piece. The leaf side is also a vintage copper piece. Two, two toned Swarovski crystals adorn the simple organic lines of the leaf. Ear wire is brass.

'Lil bleu necklace

This focal point of this piece is a delicate vintage white lotus piece. The original use of this piece was an earring. Transformed into a two-of-a-kind necklace, this is a gorgeous piece to have. Accompanied with a faceted gray blue quartz on one side, and on the other side are smoky quartz and hanging from the below is a pink quartz flower. The leaf across the necklace is a vintage brass piece with gorgeous details. The chain is gold filled.

Black sea necklace

This is an exquisite necklace which focal point is a transformed vintage brooch. The pin is a two black rose piece with gold plated leaves. The details of the rose and leaves are gorgeous. Accompanying the rose is faceted sky blue quartz as well as two coin shaped fresh water pearls. The chain is a vintage black metal. This piece is meant to be worn closer to the neck (but it is not a choker) .
